Rumour has it that they will be broadcasting one of the Aussie shows live. However, it’s not quite clear what they’re planning to do on the 17th, as Radiohead will be playing live in Tokyo that night.
UPDATE: According to At Ease, on the 17th they will play the one hour program “J File:Radiohead’s Musical Journey” at 5pm in anticipation for the band’s arrival in Australia.
UPDATED AGAIN: The good folks from Triple J wrote in to give us the skinny. On April 27th they will indeed be broadcasting the Melbourne concert live. In addition, if you miss the J File program on the 17th, you will be able to stream in directly from the website.

UPDATED: Com Lag Recall After All?

UPDATE (4/12/04):
Several readers from Japan have written in to say that all promotional material for Com Lag has disappeared from nearly every record store. In addition, most stores have pulled the album, telling people who ask for it that it has indeed been recalled. No word as to how this affects people who have already received the album, or when a re-pressed version will be available. We’ve got a call in to Toshiba EMI, and we’ll keep you posted.
(Thanks to Jon and others.)
ORIGINAL ARTICLE (04/07/04)
We’ve received word from a source (who has been quite reliable in the past) that due to public outcry, Toshiba EMI will likely be recalling the Japanese version of Com Lag after all. We’ll keep you posted.
I’ve always wanted to say “breaking news”.

“Killer Cars” #9 Solo of All Time?

According to Stylus Magazine, Jonny’s 20 second solo (between 1:21 and 1:40) in “Killer Cars” is the #9 solo of all time.
They said-
The unsung classic flipside from ?High and Dry”, being post-Pablo Honey pop (an album that has not aged well at all) and pre abbreviated political invective Kid A.
The solo in question is not the usual Greenwood attempt at wringing bendy and unknowable notes out of his guitar, although he does do a solo like that later in the song. It?s the brutally minimalist one between 1:21-1:40, which sounds very much like someone (probably mysterious and enigmatic Jonny again) repeatedly hitting that one meaty note, although I think it probably isn?t.
#1, if you’re curious, is from Nova Scotian band Plumtree’s “Scott Pilgrim”. You can go read the entire article over here.
