Radiohead included in Time list of top bands

In Time magazine’s special “Music Goes Global” issue, Radiohead was named as one of the “Ten Best Bands on the Planet Earth.” The list is described as “the top contemporary acts outside the U.S.” Other notables that made the list include U2, Sigur Ros, and Portishead.

The band was also mentioned in the main article (along with a picture of Thom):

“Thom Yorke of the British band Radiohead wrote some songs for his album Kid A by cutting up lyric sheets and pulling lines out of a top hat.”

HIQI FILM SERIES TAPS RADIOHEAD, SPARKLEHORSE AND DANDY WARHOLS

From Capitol Records: Yep, Radiohead, Sparklehorse and The Warhols are putting a whole new spin on the title “actor/musician/director.” The HIQI (that’s hick-ey,folks) Film series, starring all of the above, may be coming to a city near you. Check out the short films created (by Grant Gee, Guy Madden and more) to go hand in hand with Sparklehorse’s latest release “It’s A Wonderful Life.” Catch Radiohead turning the city of Dublin upside down plus watch their colourful vids for “Knives Out” and “Pyramid Song.” And last, but certainly not least, put on your philosophical thinking cap for Warhols’ frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor’s directorial debut, “The End Of The World As We Knew It.”

Funny

The very funny site, http://www.thewafer.co.uk, has the following “satirical” article up on their site:

Radiohead’s lead singer, Thom Yorke has controversially announced that he, “can’t think of anything to be sad or angry about, anymore.” The Oxford born singer/songwriter, best known for some of the most angst ridden and meaningful songs in music told Musical Box magazine in an interview published this week that, “I’ve come to a stage, and I think that the band have aswell, where we’ve run out of things to be bothered about. Everywhere you look there’s celebrities taking up world issues and going on the television, and making speeches. Our manager showed us a list of things that we could adopt as our like, personal crusade. But all that was left was a nature reserve in Malta. It wasn’t even a big nature reserve. I mean, bollocks…”

Livid Festival
There was a rumor that Radiohead may play the Livid Festival in Australia. Unfortunately, their name did not appear on the just released line-up. {thanks to Nick}
