– Good news for those in the US who haven’t seen the “Pyramid Song” video yet. On Monday, May 7 at 10pm ET, MTV will premiere the video on their show Videos To Watch. {thanks to Eric}

– As stated yesterday, Billboard.com reports the following:

Radiohead’s publicity representatives have retracted the additional North American tour dates released to the media yesterday (May 2). 11 dates were announced, including a two-night stand in August at the Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J., but the group’s representatives are now stressing that those dates are unconfirmed.

Stay tuned!!!

– The following news is courtesy of FMA, our partna in crime:
Thom answered three questions at Spin with a Grin. He commented on singles, politics and why there’s another version of Morning Bell on Amnesiac: “because it came from such a different place from the other version. because we only found it again by accident after having forgotten about it. because it sounds like a recurring dream. it felt right.”

– Stanley Donwood is publishing his own book! For more details, check his site.

– You can enter to win tickets to exclusive Amnesiac listening parties in the US at the Capitol Records site.

– From Planet Telex: BBC Radio One’s Evening Session and Mark and Lard show will be running a competition to win tickets to the Verona date on May 30th, listen to the station for more details. Thom will be in the studio with Mark and Lard (1pm-3pm) from Verona to play a live track on the day.

Kid AKid A cover revealed!

It’s official now… you can now see the cover for Radiohead’s new album, Kid A, by going to http://www.radiohead.com/007.html.

We would like to congratulate Mr. Stanley Donwood on his fantastic work! He continues to amaze us…

Ed in Rolling Stone

Ed O’Brien is featured as a “Hot Guest” in the September 14th issue of Rolling Stone. Here is an excerpt:

“We’ve discovered an interesting parallel relationship: The less time you spend on the road, the more sane you are. So we are not doing the traditional album, tour, album, tour, album, tour anymore. We’re going to tour when we want to, regardless of whether we’ve got a record out. What we’re going to do is a month here and there, rather than the huge rock & roll circus that we did for OK Computer.”

This Mess We’re In

PJ Harvey
PJ Harvey

Album information about PJ Harvey’s new release, entitled Stories from the City, Stories from the Sea, were announced today. The album, Harvey’s sixth LP, will be released on October 23 and will feature Thom Yorke as a guest vocalist on a duet called “This Mess We’re In“. Harvey reportedly wrote the song with Thom in mind.

Thom will also be providing backing vocals on two other tracks from the album.

For more information about PJ Harvey and the new album, head on over to www.pjh.org.

Kid A cover rumors

Slowly the details are trickling in from the grapevine about the cover for the highly-anticipated Kid A. From what we’ve heard, the cover will be plain in a similar style as the recent tour posters. Also, “Radiohead” and “Kid A” are written at the top right. Also, the booklet will not be as thick as the one from OK Computer.

Stanley commented about the artwork yesterday saying that “it’s a nightmare for record companies.

News for June 6, 2000

Lot’s of things going on with Radiohead… The band has been doing interviews and press conferences for the last week and today Jonny and Colin appeared on the German radio station Einslive. They talked about Muse, claiming that they had never heard their music, which is surprising because Muse is often compared to Radiohead.

Jonny and Colin also talked about the upcoming “tent tour” and mentioned that the album was finished and will be released in October. If anyone has anymore info about the interview, give me an email.

Meanwhile, tomorrow an interview with Colin will be aired on Radio21, a Belgian radio station. Colin originally gave the interview on May 29, 2000. The interview will air at 6 pm (GMT +1) on the show “5 Heures”. [from followmearound.com]

Another interview featuring Colin and Jonny appears in the newest issue of Humo, a Belgian magazine. The two talk about tour plans and some of the strange methods of which they used to record the new album. If anyone has this issue and is willing to translate the article, email me.

Thom is interviewed by The Frame. Go and read it at www.theframe.fsbusiness.co.uk/radiohead.html.
MPIE re-released on DVD

Grant Gee’s documentary that follows the band on their OK Computer tour of 1997 and 1998 will be re-released on DVD throughout Europe on Monday.

Glastonbury Man
BBC2 will be airing a documentary about Glastonbury organizer Michael Eavis. The show will broadcast at 7:50 pm on June 24, and will contain an interview with Thom Yorke, along with other artists.

News for June 5, 2000

Paris Metro Posters
The first concert posters have been put in some stations of Paris’ metro/underground/tube. They advertise the September bigtop concerts in paris and contain images from www.radiohead.com, along with two scary drawings (flying testbears over the city and scared citizens, and a giant man starbing) and other small text and phone lines for the FNAC and radiohead.com. It’s made of two similar parts, the only difference between the two being the drawings and the copyright: one is “poster by Stanley and Tchock”, the other by “Tchock and Stanley”. Concerts in Denmark
In the June 4 issue, the Danish newspaper, Ekstra Bladet, wrote that Radiohead will be playing two shows in Denmark on September 8th and 9th, 2000. As with the other concerts planned for this time, Radiohead will be bringing their own venue… in the form of a giant circus-type tent. (See May 26 news)
They also stated that the band would be making an appearance in Denmark tomorrow, June 6, 2000. Stay tuned….

Radiohead on RadioMafia
A Finnish radio station RadioMafia, did their “100 Best Songs Of The ’90’s” poll for their 10th birthday last Thursday. Radiohead scored four songs: “Street Spirit” (#78), “Karma Police” (#46), “Paranoid Android” (#29) and “Creep” (#18). Go to www.yle.fi/radiomafia/tapahtumat/alasivu.6.shtml for the whole list.
