Kid A cover rumors

Slowly the details are trickling in from the grapevine about the cover for the highly-anticipated Kid A. From what we’ve heard, the cover will be plain in a similar style as the recent tour posters. Also, “Radiohead” and “Kid A” are written at the top right. Also, the booklet will not be as thick as the one from OK Computer.

Stanley commented about the artwork yesterday saying that “it’s a nightmare for record companies.

This Mess We’re In

Here’s the latest on the duet with PJ Harvey and Thom Yorke from Music365.co.uk:

PJ HARVEY’s new album is to be called ‘Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea‘ and is to be released in October, Music365 can reveal.

The album is to feature 12 tracks, including a duet withRadiohead frontman Thom Yorke called ‘This Mess We’re In‘. No other track titles have been announced as yet.

In a statement on her website Harvey says of the album: “It’s a wide variety of music, from quite gentle stuff to quite aggressive sounding sorts of music. There’s a wide range of different emotions going on in this album as I like to get as much light and shade into a record as I can.”

The record was recorded at Great Linford Manor in Hertfordshire and was produced by Polly Harvey, Rob Ellis and Bad Seed Mick Harvey.

This comes after Harvey spent much of last year living in New York to get inspiration for her new material.

This month she joins US alt-country outfit Sparklehorse in Barcelona to record material for the band’s third studio album, due out early next year.

Nigel speaks

The dynamic duo of Aurelien and Mona, maintainers of the French Radiohead fanclub ne pas a.v.a.l.e.r., recently talked to Nigel Godrich (Radiohead’s producer) at the Arles, France show last week. He said that the new album will be released at the beginning of October, but there is still no exact date set. Bjork Slots Soundtrack Date, Chat

“Selmasongs,” Bjork’s soundtrack to “Dancer In The Dark,” the award-winning film in which she also stars, is now set for release on September 19.

Songs from the album will be culled entirely from music and dialogue in the film and, according to Bjork’s spokesperson at Elektra Records, “will be more like a Broadway cast recording than a soundtrack.”

“I’ve Scene It All,” a duet between Bjork and Radiohead singer Thom Yorke, also will be included on the soundtrack.

Last month, Bjork earned Best Actress honors at the Cannes Film Festival for her portrayal of “Selma,” a Czech immigrant living in the United States who has a hereditary disease which causes blindness. The musical, which was helmed by “Breaking The Waves” director Lars Von Trier, also won the festival’s Palme D’Or for best film.

“Dancer In The Dark” is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters in the fall.

Bjork will discuss the soundtrack and other topics during a live Web chat on the ARTISTdirect network (www.artistdirect.com) on Thursday at 4 p.m. (ET).
