Thom Yorke Performs “Reckoner” for The Age of Stupid

As expected, Thom Yorke performed a solo version of “Reckoner” for the premiere event for The Age of Stupid.

Reportedly the Radiohead fountainhead was meant to perform the global warming docudrama’s title track (Thom hates global warming, FYI), but instead we got a solo version of “Reckoner.”

Buried deep in the Spinner article we linked to was this nugget:

Selway later told Spinner he will record his debut solo album in Radiohead’s studio in September.

He did perform two songs (“The Ties That Bind Us” and “The Witching Hour”) at the recent 7 Worlds Collide show in London. It was reported in 2007 that Phil would be working with producer John McCusker, though it’s unclear if that’s still the case. His website lists an upcoming album by Phil, but it’s not dated.

Thom Yorke debuts new song at Latitude Festival [updated]

Thom Yorke played a solo set today at the Latitude Festival in the UK. Among a mixture of songs from Radiohead and The Eraser, Thom did debut a new song called “The Present Tense.” Another new song called “Give Up Ghost” was on the setlist but never played.

Thom did treat everyone to two fan favorites, “True Love Waits” and “Follow Me Around”. Neither song has been recorded and released on a studio album.
