Yesterday Ed and Phil did a quick 5 minute interview on Muchmusic. They talked about the album title, saying it referred to not only George W. Bush but other situations which made them afraid of the future. Next the artwork was discussed, explaining it (and the entire album in general) was Stanley and Thom influenced by the warm atmosphere in L.A., picking out words that are constantly around us. Ed revealed that he only recently listened to The Bends since that album was finished and compared it to listening to a favorite record that someone grows up with. Finally the leak was discussed, with Ed and Phil commenting that they didn’t like it, only because it was unfinished work, and they are generally in favor of file sharing programs and the internet.
