New York Magazine interview with Ed

Ben Mathis-Lilley from New York Magazine wrote to us about an interview he recently did with Ed. Entitled “Secrets of the Radiohead Set List”, the interview details how the band chooses their set list and the significance of certain songs played.

Along with front man Thom Yorke and drummer Phil Selway, O’Brien puts together set lists after lunch on the day of each show. “For this tour, we have about fifteen new songs, and before the tour, we went through a list of about 100 old ones, then whittled it down and rehearsed 45 songs, and we draw from those.” We asked O’Brien to go through the list after last Tuesday’s show at the Theater at Madison Square Garden.

Check out the interview here!

New server

Hello everyone! We successfully upgraded to a new dedicated server yesterday and things are running like a dream. Our message board is also back up and functional so go there and post away. Due to DNS propagation, some visitors to the site may still be viewing it on the old server. This usually take up to 48 hours to correct.
Thanks for all your patience! We have some exciting new things that will be happening here over the next few months and appreciate your support.

President’s daughter at NY show 2

Thom wrote this today on Dead Air Space:
this’ll make you laugh.
i was told yesterday that one of the daughters of the president came to NY show 2.
we were playing THe Tourist at the end of the show.. and yyes we did wander what the shuffling manhandling fighting was in the distance of the audience.
turns out it was her 6 bodyguards clearing the way for the first daughters exit. and some pour soul objected at being manhandled by the secret service. i think i would have to.
infact if i had known all this my objections would have been more forthright and extensive…if you know what i mean. which is perhaps why our lot chose not to tell me who was in the building before we went on. probably a good idea.
hmm
i dont know if we should be
A. honoured
B. amused
C. bemused
D. ask if she had a valid ticket
E. object belatedly on moral grounds
F. ask again if she had a ticket and question whether this really what our gigs are about
G. dont blame the daughter for the father
H. shutup and smile
answers on a postcard
bonaroo today woo hoo
