If you have a chance, please vote for Green Plastic for the “People’s Choice Award” in this year’s Interactive Music Awards. For the past few years, Green Plastic has been voted in the top 3 and has been the highest placed unofficial site of any artist or band. Last year, we placed 2nd, only after the official Westlife site.
If you would like to vote for this site, please do so by clicking here.
Thank you for your continued support for this site. It is really appreciated.
“EPs Are More Likely” – Thom
Thom gave a brief, but very interesting, backstage interview to the Associated Press after the Mountain View show, in which he noted that Radiohead recently fulfilled their contract with Parlophone/EMI, and will probably not continue releasing music in the standard pattern.
“It’s always been album, album, album,” he says, adding that he believes the music business will be forced to change because the way people listen to music is changing.
“Things like iTunes and people splitting up tracks,” he says. “I kind of think that’s good. I listen to music on random all the time.”
With the freedom to do anything, Yorke says he’s unsure what the band will try next, although it’s unlikely to pound out another album. EPs are more likely.
“The whole thing’s in their hands. I think it’s a band that’s always going to test the limits and try new things,” says Rob Gordon, vice president of global marketing at EMI, who added he’s confident the band’s relationship with his label will continue.

How Did Jonny Sabotage Creep?
We have received some email ever since we posted the recent news post about the poll where Radiohead came in at #16 on the “Top 20 Moments in Pop” done by the UK’s Daily Mail.
16. Radiohead’s guitarist Jonny Greenwood sabotages lead singer Thom Yorke’s song Creep (1992)
Many have asked how did Jonny sabotage Creep? It has been known that Jonny didn’t particularly like Creep when he first heard it so when the band would play it, he would try to ruin the song by making the now famous “chunk chunk” sound with his guitar during the chorus. Little did he know that sound would actually improve the song and make it the huge hit that it was.
Now you know… 🙂
Pitchfork Media Reviews Bodysong Single
Indie music haven Pitchfork Media, to which I’d recommend a daily visit (right after Green Plastic, naturally), has given “Moon Trills” from Jonny’s Bodysong Soundtrack a 3 1/2 star review in their “We Are the World” singles review section.
Check it out here.
To those who continue to ask why we didn’t post this when it happened, my answer is this- if you’re going to insist on pirating commercially available Radiohead music, we’re certainly not going to help you.
Concert recordings, however, are another story. If you’re aware of any high quality (i.e., think Salamanca or Berlin) recordings from the current tour out there, please pass it (the info, NOT the MP3s) on to us. We’re specifically looking for what show, why the bootleg is so good, type of recording, sound quality, and where it can be found.
