President’s daughter at NY show 2

Thom wrote this today on Dead Air Space:
this’ll make you laugh.
i was told yesterday that one of the daughters of the president came to NY show 2.
we were playing THe Tourist at the end of the show.. and yyes we did wander what the shuffling manhandling fighting was in the distance of the audience.
turns out it was her 6 bodyguards clearing the way for the first daughters exit. and some pour soul objected at being manhandled by the secret service. i think i would have to.
infact if i had known all this my objections would have been more forthright and extensive…if you know what i mean. which is perhaps why our lot chose not to tell me who was in the building before we went on. probably a good idea.
hmm
i dont know if we should be
A. honoured
B. amused
C. bemused
D. ask if she had a valid ticket
E. object belatedly on moral grounds
F. ask again if she had a ticket and question whether this really what our gigs are about
G. dont blame the daughter for the father
H. shutup and smile
answers on a postcard
bonaroo today woo hoo

Can’t make it to Bonnaroo, don’t sweat it

Maybe Tennessee is too far for you. Maybe you don’t want to be hanging around a lot of jam band fans. Maybe you hate humidity and the outdoors. Whatever your excuse is, it’s not good enough for missing Radiohead’s performance at this year’s Bonnaroo festival. Now, thanks to the AT&T blue room, we can witness Radiohead’s performance (among others) without leaving our homes.
The AT&T blue room will be serving up hours of free, uninterrupted, live streaming coverage from Bonnaroo Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, June 16th-18th starting at 1:30 PM edt/10:30 AM pdt.

UPDATE: It has been brought to our attention that Radiohead is not included on the webcast schedule on the AT&T blue room site. We were originally told that Radiohead would be included by the blue room people so that is why we posted it. If for some reason the band’s performance is not webcast, don’t shoot the messenger! 😉

Thom Yorke to appear on Henry Rollin’s TV show

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has confirmed an appearance on an American chat show, reports NME.com.
The star will be one of the guests on ‘The Henry Rollins Show’, where he will be promoting his debut solo album ‘The Eraser’. Yorke will feature on the programme on July 15.
Former Black Flag frontman Rollins’ show, broadcast on the IFC Network, features the likes of Dinosaur Jr., Peaches and Dashboard Confessional in future episodes.
‘The Eraser’ is released on July 10 on XL Records.
In other news, according to a Rolling Stone’s report, Radiohead are to remain without a long-term contract.
The band has been without a deal since their contract with EMI expired last year, and Yorke told the magazine that the band are keen to make each future album a one-off, label wise.
He said: “My big problem with corporate structure is this bizarre sense of loyalty you’re supposed to feel-towards what is basically a virus. It grows or dies, like any virus. And you use it for your own selfish ends.
“Jonny (Greenwood, Radiohead guitarist) had a big problem with the fact that we didn’t have any obligation – a release date or anything. He found it difficult to work in a vacuum. Which is one of the reasons why we chose to go out on tour: ‘This is something we can work toward’. It’s human nature. Personally, I don’t have that. But I can see why, if you’re a group of people, you need it.”
