New album details

We’ve gotten some more details about the new Radiohead album that is scheduled to be released this Spring. The album title could be “2+2=5” or “Are You Listening?”. The band are still kicking around ideas so it’s not quite certain if they’ve decided.

The band recorded 4 tracks at Ocean Way Studios in Los Angeles and 13 in London, where they also re-recorded 2 of the LA cuts. However, the album will only have 13 tracks on it. Still no word on a tracklisting, though “Where I End and You Begin” is most likely going to be the first single.

The band will gather to mix the album at the end of January. Once we have more details, we’ll pass them along.

It’s important to note that this information may change before the official news is announced.

Webcast highlights

thom_webcast (6k image)

Radiohead treated its fans to a special Christmas webcast earlier this evening. Highlights include the band (minus Jonny) doing interviews, wearing Sadam and George W Bush masks, Thom and Colin DJing, and the performance of four songs including a cover of “Winter Wonderland”!

Due to bandwidth issues, we’ve had to remove the 4 webcast mp3s.

Many thanks to www.thewonderwall.com for recording and encoding the mp3s for us!
(thanks to Stephen for the above screen cap)

Webcast?

Thom has left a message on the official Radiohead site hinting that there may be a webcast of some sort on Wednesday, December 18th at 10pm GMT (5pm ET).
It is advised that you download the RealOne Player.
You may remember that back in 1999 and 2000 while Radiohead were in the studio recording Kid A and Amnesiac, they did a series of webcasts and even treated us all to new material. Can we expect the same for this Wednesday?

New album release date

Pitchfork is listing Radiohead’s new album as having a March 25th release date. This information is consistent with what we’ve been hearing. Our source indicates that the band will finish up recording and start mixing the album in January and are tossing around album titles but so far nothing is set.
We’ll keep you updated.
