More Australia tickets to be released

Radiohead Australia Tour PosterIn light of last week’s ticket disaster in Australia, tour promoter Chugg Entertainment announced that it will be making additional tickets available closer to the shows in November. The small amount of tickets will come from canceled ticket sales that were deemed to have breached the conditions of sale. In a statement made on their Facebook page, Chugg said:

”So, there’s been a lot of questions regarding when & how cancelled Radiohead tickets will be released back to sale. These tickets (and any other potential new releases) won’t be made available for sale at this time. We’ll be releasing them closer to the tour dates and any announcements in relation to this will appear on this page, as well as our website.”

Earlier in the week, Chugg posted the following on their Facebook:

There has been a lot of mention in regards to the number of Radiohead tickets being onsold by scalpers, and we can assure you, Chugg Entertainment is also very disappointed in the resale of tickets via eBay. We are doing what we can to police this, but unfortunately for all of the deterrents that we are able to put in place (like the additional terms and conditions of sale) it is difficult for promoters, ticketing agencies and venues to enforce.

We will not cancel a ticket unless we can determine with absolute certainty which exact seats or general admission tickets breach the conditions of sale, as we would otherwise risk cancelling tickets purchased by true fans like the majority of you. As you can see when you go on to eBay, professional scalpers list tickets with vague details on seating locations but rarely ever get specific about seat or ticket numbers, as this information would allow us to track who they are and cancel their tickets.

With that said, we are regularly scanning listings to look for tickets that we are able to cancel and will continue to do so up until the tour. If you come across a listing that specifies the exact ticket allocation (including seat numbers or exact GA ticket numbers) please send the page link to us at info@chuggentertainment.com and we will look into it immediately.

Since yesterday afternoon, the ticketing agencies have found a small number of credit cards that had transacted more than one order of 4 tickets, and subsequently have cancelled a handful of tickets. We again urge you NOT to buy tickets from scalpers or off of eBay as there is a chance that one of these cancelled orders is the tickets you just paid for.

Australian shows sell out in seconds, Scalpers having a field day

Scalpers selling tickets on eBay

A huge debacle occurred today when tickets for the Radiohead shows in Australia went on sale. All tickets for the 5 Radiohead shows sold out in “instantly” after they went on sale at 9 am this morning, leading many fans without a way to see the band unless they shell out big bucks to purchase tickets through sites like eBay. Already scalpers have started posting auctions trying to get top dollar for tickets.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, tour promoter Chugg Entertainment had this to say:

“We are doing what we can to police this, but unfortunately for all of the deterrents that we are able to put in place (like the additional terms and conditions of sale) it is difficult for promoters, ticketing agencies and venues to enforce.”

In addition, Chugg has threatened to cancel scalped tickets:

“As you can see when you go on to eBay, professional scalpers list tickets with vague details on seating locations but rarely ever get specific about seat or ticket numbers, as this information would allow us to track who they are and cancel their tickets.  We are regularly scanning listings to look for tickets that we are able to cancel and will continue to do so up until the tour.”

Did you try and get tickets this morning? Were you successful?

Pre-sale tickets sold out. General sales on 11/12 & 11/19

W.A.S.T.E. released a small block of tickets to fans early this morning and they sold out pretty quick. Unfortunately, they do not pre-announce exactly when this happens so all we knew in advance was that it would be some time today. If you weren’t able to secure some, you still have a chance when the general sale starts on 11/12, except for the Tampa show which goes on sale 11/19.

Please check out Radiohead’s tour dates page for all the information you need about how to purchase. Good luck!

Radiohead: Be careful when buying NYC tickets for more than face value

A statement was just posted to Radiohead.com concerning the two NYC shows this week:

Some ticket holders for this week’s New York shows have chosen to re-sell one or both of their allocation on auction sites. Using a 2 ticket limit and will-call only access with ID, we have tried to ensure that more tickets go to the people who prefer to see the show than to cheat fellow fans with re-selling tickets at exorbitant prices.

For those of you who have to pay over the face value of the ticket, PLEASE make sure that you are certain you can get into the show before parting with your money. A ticket is only valid with its matching credit card details and the ID of the purchaser, after which the ticket holder will be escorted straight through.

On a lighter note, we played on The Colbert Report last night. It was funny.

Did you get your Radiohead tickets?

Radiohead

Both shows at New York’s Roseland Ballroom went on sale this morning at 10 AM and we’ve been reading many reports that it was pretty much impossible for anyone to get tickets. Of course, it’s to be expected that Radiohead would sell out quickly, especially at a smaller venue like the Roseland. Currently, Ticketmaster says “Tickets Not Available” for both shows, but that doesn’t mean that additional tickets couldn’t become available later. We don’t know that for sure, though.

Also, please be very wary of getting tickets through scalpers. All tickets must be picked up at the Roseland will call office right before the shows and be under the name of the person who purchased them. If someone says they have tickets they can sell you, it’s most likely a scam.

Were you able to get tickets? Sound off in the comments.

Ticketmaster: RH tickets on sale tomorrow

Picture%203.png
After last year’s ridiculous story about Ticketmaster selling tickets to a Radiohead show at Bally’s in Las Vegas, we get wind of news that ticketmaster.com saying that tickets for Radiohead will be going on sale tomorrow morning at 10 AM. We’re pretty sure this is a mistake folks.

If you want to see the goof, you have to select “Philadelphia” as your location and look to the bottom right of the page.

Move along, there’s nothing left to see…

(via Mortigi Tempo)

UPDATE Saturday 7:42 AM PT: Ticketmaster took down the mistake.
