Damien Rice covers “Creep”

Speaking of Starbucks, the coffee chain has an exclusive CD of cover songs from KCRW’s Sounds Eclectic, called Sounds Eclectic: The Covers Project. Two Radiohead songs appear on the album, which is nice. Along with the older Flaming Lips’ cover of “Knives Out”, Damien Rice’s cover of “Creep” is featured.

If you don’t want to go to Starbucks to buy the CD, you can get it straight from KCRW.

Flaming Lips

You can listen to the Flaming Lips perform a cover of Radiohead’s “Knives Out” at www.soundseclectic.com. Just click on “Flaming Lips” under the “recent programs” section. You have to download the whole hour long program, but you can forward it to the end, when the Lips play.

Flaming Lips

Need a little sonic boost this week? Tired of your co-workers blaring bad elevator music? Tune into the Flaming Lips this Thursday and fight off the mid-week blues with a dose of musical bliss from Wayne, Michael and Steven.

The Flaming Lips will be performing LIVE on KCRW on “Morning Becomes Eclectic” this Thursday, August 8th at 11am PT. They’ll be playing songs from their new CD Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and will talk about the making of the album.

If you’re in the Los Angeles area, tune into KCRW at 89.9FM. You can also listen to it on http://www.kcrw.com.

Plus, they’ll be covering songs from Radiohead and Kylie Minogue (Yes, KYLIE MINOGUE – trust us…it’s brilliant).

And make sure to check out http://www.flaminglips.com for the latest updates from the Lips!
